Now here’s one for all you Western aficionados – or would be cowboys! Step back in time and experience what the old west was really like, with many folk dressed in period costume to give an authentic feel to the events.

Held on this year on 20th - 23rd August 2008 at Kanab USA it’s jammed packed with everything fans of the wild west could only dream of seeing – and participate in.

Experience 3 days on a WAGON TRAIN….this starts at Alton Utah at 6.00pm on 20th August and gives a 3 days and 2 nights of a true western experience with dinners served around the campfire, ride in one of the wagons or ride a horse – for full details and prices check out the web site at http://www.westernlegendsroundup.com

20th August
3.00pm Ranch Rodeo

21st August

9.00am Celebrity golf roundup
9.00am –5.pm Western Folklore Workshops

22nd August

7.30am – 2pm Cowboy Action Shooting
9.00am – 5.00pm Trail rides, along trails where Glenn Ford, James Arness and Ben Johnson rode, many films were made in this area – be a part of western history
9.00am - a couple of tours are on offer visiting movie sets
10.00am - 3.00pm Cowboy Quick Draw – test your reactions!
9.00am – 4.00pm Film Festival, meet the stars
7.00pm - Friday night concert – Riders in the Sky
9.00pm Country Dance

23rd August
7.30am – 11.00am Cowboy action shooting
8.00am – breakfast with the stars
9.00am – 5.00 Trail rides
9.00am - Tours of the movie sets
9.00am Tractor pull
9.00am – 11.30am Dutch oven cooking, taste testing available
10.00am Children’s art and crafts
10.00am –12 noon Fiddle contest
10.30am - 3.00pm Cowboy quick draw
10.00am – 6pm – Art, photography, sculpture, pottery
12.00 noon – High noon parade of cattle, wagons etc
7.00pm – Concert with Ian Tyson

See the beautiful quilt shows; visit the street fair with stage shows, working displays, vendors, and listen to the poetry. Watch the mountain in actions and learn their tricks of survival in wilderness.

Entertainment includes a fantastic mix of groups and individual vocalists for all western music fans. Vocalists include; Belinda Gail (Western Music Associations ‘Female singer of the year for four years) and Curly (Jim) Musgrave. ‘Riders in the Sky are giving a concert on the Friday, and see Ian Tyson in concert on Saturday 23rd.

Others in the star-studded line up are, Clint Walker ‘Cheyenne’ Robert Horton ‘Wagon Train’, Cheryl Rogers Barnett – the daughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Wyatt McCrea – grandson of Joel McCrea, stuntman Neil Summers….plus many other well know names from the good old days.
