This eco hotel (formally called ‘Fur ‘n’ Feathers Treehouses’ has won many awards. Not surprising when you understand the hotel has a passion for the environment and wildlife.  Small is amazingly beautiful, and luxurious, in this instance. So what does The Canopy offer its visitors?

Accommodation is provided in the following:

• 5 two bed-roomed luxury timber and glass tree houses are fully self contained, (all totally secluded and private with fully equipped kitchen, spa baths, a balcony with a BBQ and hammock.
• One larger 3 bedroom house (called the Bower House) with spectacular views of the valley and is on top of a ridge in the rainforest.
• A further two bed rooms are located at ground level within the main building (called the Rainforest Unit) and has wheelchair access.

‘OK, so what?’, you may ask, ‘what is so special about this?’; it sounds like the kind of accommodation to be found in many places!

Well here goes…..the furniture is crafted from the rainforests, not just any old bath, but ones that are double corner spas – with fully bathrobes and hand made soap. Washing machines and dryers, Internet connection, DVD and TV, am I whetting your appetite, cos there’s more…

The 100 protected acres in the hotel confines is a large untouched part of the rainforest, providing about 4-7 times the amount of fruit and food usually found – hence the density of the wildlife to be seen.

Birds in abundance, King Parrots, Spotted Catbirds, Honeyeaters and finches are just a few of the birds that will gently wake you up each morning.
