Accommodation;

You will be sleeping in a ger - the traditional felt tents used by nomadic herders. Each one is heated by a wood stove, and furnished with painted wooden framed beds and furniture. The gers are handmade latticed wood structures and covered with layers of canvas and felt. Modern bathrooms and showers are located in the main lodge just a few hundred feet from the gers. Each one offers unobstructed views of the desert and mountains.

• Excellent food and service – including Mongolian dishes, food and supplies are purchased locals and is dependent on the season – the food is suitable for the Western Palate!

Activities:

• Hiking in the foothills of the Gobi-Altai Mountains – photo opportunities include Argali, Ibex, foxes, wolves, griffons and vultures.
• Camel trekking
• Horse riding
• A palaeontologist offers guided trips searching for, and excavating dinosaur fossils
• A short walk from the lodge offers the opportunity see ancient petroglyphs, which can be found on the rock outcrop behind the camp.
• Nomads bring their livestock to a nearby well when you can experience their daily life.

Hunting is banned within a 12-mile radius of the camp and The Camel Lodge serves as a base for wildlife monitoring and scientific research.
