Ten top family naturist resorts

If the children are happy on holiday – then parents will be too. When looking for a family naturist holiday what you don’t want is one that’s at a resort that caters mainly for adults! The following 10 resorts (in no particular order) range from caravaning/camping, to up market Caribbean venues all suitable for families of varying ages.
1.La Jenny France

Situated 40 miles west of Bordeaux on France’s Côte d’Argent, near the Atlantic coast where the warm Gulf Stream ensures a surprisingly mild climate. The nearest village is Le Porge, six miles away. The resort is set in nearly 300 acres of pine forests; accommodation is self-catering studios and apartments for 2,500 people. This is a perfect family resort with a supervised Kids’ Club (3-11 years) and activities provided for teenagers (12-17 years a). There’s golden sandy beach a lovely 20 minutes walk away, the complex has a huge outdoor swimming pool, 10 tennis courts, archery, golf and aerobics. Other facilities include; restaurant, bar, pizzeria-snack bar, supermarket, washing machines and baby sitting at a nominal charge, WiFi access is payable. Gymnastics, yoga, archery, aerobics and water polo, pony club for children are among the organised activities on offer, as well as concerts, dances and shows. La Jenny is perfect for all the family.
2.Euronat – France
Situated on the Gulf Stream Atlantic coast of France in the Gironde District of the Aquitaine Region, between the seaside town of Soulac-sur-Mer, which is about 10 km’s to the north, and the village of Montelivet, about 3 km’s to the south, it is about one hours drive north of Bordeaux. Set in a Pine Forest of 335 hectares it’s Europe’s largest naturist centre. It’s divided into villages, with self-catering studios, apartments, tents and mobile homes, and is another ideal family resort. There is a mile and half of beach reserved for naturist swimming and sunbathing. Don’t like the beach? then go to the open air pool with its water slide or the large indoor heated pool. It never feels over-crowded and has a resort atmosphere. The hub of the resort is the village square, with three supermarkets, boulangerie, four restaurants, snack bar, take away butcher, fishmonger, off license, boutique, bank, newsagents, amusement arcade and a sports shop. Want to keep fit? visit the purpose built health centre with qualified staff, or relax with the various therapies on offer. A plus for parents a free kindergarten is run through July and August for children aged 3 –7. Other activities include, tennis, volleyball, archery, riding, boules, mini golf, table tennis, football, judo and basketball. For the less active there are handicraft workshops. Occasional sports competitions are held, as are concerts, shows and dancing.
3.Domaine Laborde
A wonderful natural inland resort in S.W.France – the Dordogne. You don’t have to be near the sea to enjoy a family naturist holiday. This 4 star resort is superb for a relaxing stays and is nature and naturism at it’s best. Set in 50 acres of countryside, with a subtropical indoor adult and children’s swimming pool, outdoor pools and whirlpool, two lakes, tennis court, volleyball and badminton court, it’s paradise. The resort restricts reservations to 120 families – so it’s never crowded. There are both camping 100 pitches (bring your own tent), and 30 chalets for rent, and excellent sanitary blocks. Other facilities; cyber café, horse riding in the forest, dancing, canoeing on the Dordogne with picnics and barbecue, children’s picnic expedition by tractor, sketching and painting. There are many delightful places to visit in this region; French markets, vineyards, castles, caves, museums, river trips, if the beach is not a prime requisite for a naturist holiday this venue is a must.
4. Arnaouchot, France
In the heart of Les Landes De Gascogne. Set in a pine forest of 45 hectares Arna is naturist village providing all that you will need for a relaxing family holiday. With 3 swimming pools, one heated to 28 degrees, a bubble bath, waterslide and hydrotherapy. You can either bring your own tent, or rent accommodation (bungalows, chalets and cottages), and it’s all next to the ocean. During the high season it offers over 60 workshops and activities for all the family including; archery, water colour painting, photography, silk painting. A mini club for 7-14 year olds with tennis, beginners golf and archery, modeling, basket making, and shows. Try your hand at ballroom dancing, yoga, aqua-gym, or go on a walking or cycling tours, volleyball, basketball – and more. In the evenings there are music festivals, variety show, dinner and theme evenings, and crazy golf – you will never be at a loss for things to do. With 3 excellent restaurants, and two bars you will never go hungry, if you want to self cater a supermarket and bakery will provide all that you need. This is defiantly a resort to consider.
5. Cap d’Agde, South of France

Cap d’Agde naturist village/resort attracts a mixture of all types of naturists – and its all things to all people. The size of this large self-contained naturist village (which attracts up to 40,000 people at any given time), allows genuine naturists enjoy the excellent beach, large camping area, excellent resort facilities and swimming pools etc. Cap d’Agde can be an excellent location for family naturism. Although a lot of the nightlife is aimed at couples. Children can walk around in safety, as there are no vehicles in the main areas of the resort. There are of course cars in the camping areas. The right hand side of the beach is unofficially for families with golden sands and very safe swimming; the further you walk away from this area you will find couples, of all sexes and mixes, so this is not really for children. The camping area is wonderful for youngsters as there are many children’s activities organised here, and in many ways the more relaxed and traditional naturist section. In the ‘village’ area there are children’s playgrounds, swimming shops, restaurants and banks. It can be very busy, with a very lively atmosphere and a little ‘contrived’, but don’t let this put you off, many families return here year after year.
6.Vera Playa, Spain
Is an excellent family 4-star resort set on a mile long naturist beach, with a choice of self-catering, half board or all-inclusive. With daily programs of activities and entertainment the family will never be bored. There are children’s facilities including a playground, with a sandy beach (a few pebbly area) it’s perfect for children and parents to relax. The resort has a ‘dusk to dawn’ dress code; clothes are required between sunset and sunrise and also for meals in the restaurant. Buffet meals are served in the air-conditioned restaurant with a good selection of hot and cold food, as an alternative the beach club serves speciality dishes. Other facilities include; large swimming pool, open air Jacuzzi, hairdresser, launderette, and Internet access (small charge). Activities include; table tennis, boules, gymnastics, mini-golf, garden chess, shuffleboard and darts. A mini club is on offer for children so parents can have welcome break.
7. Koversada Naturist Park, Istrian Peninsula, Croatia

This is Croatia’s oldest naturist resort, set in 280 acres of parkland with olive, pine and fig trees. Accommodation is in simple 215 single and two storey ‘pavilions and 119 apartments and studios, there is also camping and caravan areas. Visitors can opt for self-catering or half board. The beach (as everywhere in Istria) is rocky with sunbathing platforms and sheltered pebble bays. Opposite the island there is a large man-made sandy area, where a program of entertainment – morning exercises, boccia, beach volley takes place. Activities, 8 clay tennis courts, table tennis, mini golf, darts, basketball court, small football field, you can also hire paddleboats and canoes. For children there is a mini-club, day and evening entertainment, and a large sandy area for children by the sea. Plus daily and evening entertainments for adults, other amenities include, restaurants, dance terrace, 2 supermarkets, money changing facilities and a cash dispenser, shops and an Internet point. The resort is within easy walking distance of the lovely village of Vrsar, and day trips to Venice is a must. The setting of the resort is glorious with stunning scenery, a wonderful laid-back atmosphere this is certainly a resort to consider.
8.Cypress Cove, Florida
Just south of Orlando, an inland resort with great facilities for all the family. Set in 260 acres encompassing motel rooms and apartments for visitors all to a very high standard, a 50-acre lake, plus a residential area for permanent residents. Facilities; two large swimming pools are heated by solar energy to a temperature of 27 degrees, and have large terraces with chairs, tables and umbrellas, indoor and out door Jacuzzi’s, spa centre, boutique, games room and playground. There is a small shop, a library, launderette, golf shop, and free WiFi access. For the more active visitor sports facilities include; hard court tennis, table tennis tables, basketball, 9-hole mini-golf, petanque, shuffleboard courts and a gym. . The use of the canoes and pedalos is free on the lake, and guests are invited to fish. The clothes optional restaurant is open seven days a week for all meals, and the pool bar serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as snacks and sandwiches. Car hire is available to enable you to visit the theme parks and other attractions Florida has to offer. This is a perfect family holiday resort with something for everyone.
9. Caliente Florida
Another great resort set in a vast 101 acres, just 25 miles north of Tapma Airport. Caliente offers a huge variety of sport and leisure facility’s, and has seven pools, one being quarter of an acre! Other facilities include; hot tubs, steam baths, children’s playground, spa with body treatments, massages etc. a library, launderette, It’s a self-contained village, with 6 tennis courts, volleyball, boule, basket ball – this list goes on! In the evening a nightclub/disco provides entertainment. Hungry, there are two restaurants serving Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine and 5 bars. An accommodation is in 391 units and motel rooms, all equipped to a very high standard (an all inclusive package is available). This resort is more suited to families with older children, who, will certainly appreciate the proximity to Orlando (90 minutes away) with Walt Disney World, Epcot centre, Universal Studios, Seaworld. Discovery Cove, Wet’n Wild, Cape Canaverel and the Kennedy Space Centre.
10. Club Orient Beach, Carribean
Situated on French St Matins in West Indies, and perfect climate for all year round family holidays (hurricanes can occur between June and October). With it’s mile and half white sandy beach, and sports facilities it’s a fantastic resort. I would suggest that its more suitable for slightly older children as there are no specific facilities available for young children, and is a ‘sophisticated’ resort, although all ages are welcome. Rooms are superb, as is the cuisine at the restaurants.
