Naturist Skiing

When considering Naturist Holidays what usually springs to mind? Glorious sunny weather, lovely beaches and slathering on the sun cream are the pictures generally conjured up in ones imagination. However, there are some intrepid ‘tough’ naturists who consider sunshine only naturism for whimps!

Have you ever considered nude skiing?! This is one of the cheaper ways to ski! There is no need to overload your credit cards with the latest designer gear – just make sure when you come off the slopes you have warm thermals for every last bit of your body.

Where can you ski in the ‘altogether’? Here are a few options.

Aspen is one of the worlds most famous ski resorts in the world. Attracting the rich and famous with its lively feel and stunning views. It’s home to some of the best après ski one could ever want, from budget to fine dining, superb accommodation, what more could you want. The shopping is fantastic, as is the non-stop activities such as, tennis, skating, bowling and ballooning. If you are feeling romantic take a sleigh ride to one of the mountain restaurants of an evening, or just party away the night at one of the 100 bars and restaurants in town. The resorts shuttle buses run until 2.00am, so you can always get home safely after a night out.

Aspen is home to four separate ski areas, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass, all of which are linked by a free shuttle service.

For the Naturist skiers when you arrive book to go on one of the organised guided ski-tours.

For a long season of cross-country naked skiing head to Obertraun in Austria. Regulars to this resort recommend skiing the four-kilometre loop before March. Why? It may be cold – but at this time of the year you will avoid the danger of extensive sunburn on your ‘exposed bits’!

One of the most organised winter Naturist resorts in Europe is at Ramsau, Austria. Here you can cross-country ski or Alpine ski. Lanhaus Luhrmann guesthouse is situated high on the Ramsau plateau with 14 double bedrooms, all having fantastic mountain views and en-suite facilities. Good breakfasts are served before a strenuous days skiing, and returning home after an invigorating day enjoy an excellent 3 or 4 course meal, helped down with a bottle or two from the superb wine cellar. Here you may sunbathe naked on the terrace and be textile free in the swimming pool and sauna at the hotel.  It’s customary (but not obligatory) to go straight from the sauna to douse yourself with snow when leaving the Sauna. Holidays to this resort from the UK can be booked through Chalfont Holidays. http://www.chalfonthilidays.co.uk

Czech Republic has an all year round Naturist Resort at Mlecna Drha. Don’t expect the luxury of Aspen, but it offers winter holidays and has an arrangement with a local, small Ski School, the majority of skiers are textile, but the owners don’t mind folk stripping off to ski in the buff.

If you know of any other naturist ski resorts do let us know.  Try not to get too much frostbite on your ‘personal bits’! Enjoy!
