Naturist Flying, Germany

Airlines are always looking for new ways to put ‘bums on seats’. Well - here is a new and novel way! Not just bums on seats…..but bare bums on hygienic cloths! No, the passengers are not (we hope) incontinent – just totally in the buff – this is the first airline to offer Nudist flying. Giving a new meaning to the term ‘landing strip’!

OssiUrlaub – a tour operator based in Erfurt Germany are flying passengers ‘au natural’ on clothes free flights to the naturist beaches on the Baltic island of Usedom. So, not only do passengers check in their baggage, but also their clothes before they take off. No fears of concealed weapons (of any description) on these flights!

Why the hygiene cloths? Airplane seats are notoriously uncomfortable, just imagine bare sweaty bums sticking on plastic seats for an hour…and who would want to sit on them on the next flight home?  You might go or return from holiday with more than you bargained for.

The chartered plane only carries 50 passengers – but OssiUraub have reported that their Internet site has been jammed with enquires to secure seats on the maiden voyage, July 5th – which is a day trip only. Enquires have come in from such far-flung places as Japan, France and New Zealand. So they are now considering chartering larger planes to cope with the demand. They soon hope to be able to offer a week long all inclusive naturist holidays, so the only clothes you will need are those needed to travel too and from the Airports.

A few rules will apply on the flight, hot drinks will not be served – just a precautionary measure for gentlemen as they could be spilled. No ‘hanky-panky’ on board – the rational behind the flights is to cater for the German’s craze for nudity. Please use your trays for meals…crumbs could lurk in other nooks and crannies than the sides of the seats. Sorry, but life vests are still mandatory wearing apparel if emergencies arise…you will be expected to put them on. Passengers can only undress once they are on the plane – however the Pilot and crew have to abide by IATA regulations and remain full clad throughout the flights.

Words of advice; take care when getting up from your seats to use the toilets as various parts of your anatomy could be close to other passengers faces as you pass them by! Maybe they should provide hygienic wet bum wipes in the toilets – I know that airlines sell duty free fragrances, but we don’t want any unwelcome whiffs! Oh, and Gentlemen…… please take extra care when fastening your seat belts.

If you go on one of these flights do leave us some comments – we would love to hear from you.
