Naturism in Palm Springs

The majority of naturist resorts are seasonal, think of Europe and the only time to bare all is in the summer months. The Caribbean has its hurricane seasons when you frequently get more drenched that suntanned.
For a year round resort where sun is the order of the day – every day – visit the beautiful resort of Palm Springs, The Terra Cotta Inn to be precise.
This naturist paradise is owned and operated by the founding owners – unlike other impersonal large resorts who are just interested in keeping their shareholders happy. What the owners at the Terra Cotta want to offer, and do, is a personal service with guests returning year after year to visit them, in fact 75% of the bookings are for repeat guests – that sums it up and says it all! It’s a clothing optional resort, so if you feel ‘shy’ when you arrive you certainly don’t have to ‘bare all’, though from what I understand the majority of the residents do succumb to the freedom that naturism brings. It’s a couples only resort (no single men), relaxing – and with no wild parties, just the true spirit of Naturism with none of the sometimes ‘tacky side’ that can occur in other resorts.
The resort has been picked as one of the top ten best vacation experiences or travel destinations in the world in the 2008 Lonely Planets Blue list – so that’s a good recommendation!
What amenities does The Terra Cotta Inn have to offer?
Spacious grounds
17 rooms, some with kitchens and private patios, the rooms have cable TV, VCR’s, king sized beds, in-room coffee service and maid service
Huge Jacuzzi spa and a heated outdoors pool
Poolside breakfasts are included in the price, including, fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, cereal plus more.
Spa services, including massage, manicure, pedicure, facials, waxing and reflexology
Wonderful mountain views
Fax and other business services
Meals available
Eating out, if you don’t want to eat at the Inn the owners will recommend restaurants to suit your palate…..or order a meal to be delivered in from more than a dozen restaurants that will deliver to your room. Lunchtime, salads and sandwiches can be provided.
You will be spoilt for choice if you decide to venture out, with a vast selection of retail shops, golf courses, tennis courts. Hire a bike or car – or even travel by horseback to explore the nearby 5,000-year-old Indian Canyons, the Living Desert Nature preserve and wild Animal Park. Take a trip in a hot air balloon; see concerts at the McCallum theatre for the Performing Arts. Or maybe visit the Desert Museum or the Palm Springs Air Museum.
A bit more info; in the past it was called the ‘Monkey Tree’ and was a retreat for Hollywood stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball and Spencer Tracy. Today’s guests are made to feel like stars from the 60’s as everything is done to make them feel pampered and special, enabling them to completely relax and unwind.
For year round sun and total relaxation, this is a perfect resort for ‘seasoned’ naturists – or first timers who are not sure how they would respond to a more ‘in your face’ resort.
