Family Holiday Packing Checklist

I have divided this checklist into different sections for ease of use – especially for traveling on airplanes

Hand-luggage (assuming you are flying) – general items
• Passports
• Tickets / E-booking reference numbers
• Directions to holiday accommodation – especially if traveling independently
• Details of holiday company contact number if booked through an operator
• Travel Currency / Travelers Cheques
• Credit / Debit Cards
• Drivers License
• Travel Insurance Details & Form E11 (for medical cover) if traveling within EU
• Medications – always pack these in hand luggage in case hold luggage goes astray
• Glasses / Sun-glasses / Contact Lenses / Solutions
• Camera / Video Camera & charger unit
• Mobile Phone & charger unit
• Jewelery
• Journey Entertainment – books, magazines, for teens – games consoles
• MP3 players & charger unit
• House keys
• Flight pillows / socks if you use them & possibly ear-plugs
• Suck sweets – especially for small children during take-offs / landing
• Lip balm
• Travel sickness pills

Hand-luggage checklist if have babies
• Nappies – keep at least 3 more than you think you will need allowing for any delays
• Wipes & Nappy Sacks
• Possibly a lightweight changing mat / small towel
• Sterilized Bottles
• Milk Formula / Expressed milk
• Baby food & appropriate spoons / bibs
• Baby Comforter – special toy, blanket/muslin, dummy
• Complete change of baby clothes – I have had babies be sick on planes!
• Sudo-cream – useful for after-sun / sun burns in addition to nappy rash
• Calpol – other travelers with thank you!!
• Stroller – you will usually be able to take this right up to the plane but will have to leave it at the plane entrance & collect it at baggage reclaim

Toiletries

• Shower Gel
• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Sun screen – differing factors
• After-sun / body lotion
• Inset Repellent
• Deodorant
• Tooth Brush, Paste & Dental Floss
• Cotton Wool / cotton wool buds
• Saving Equipment
• Cleanser / Cleansing wipes / Moisturiser
• Make-up / Make-up remover
• Tweezers / Nail Scissors
• Basic First Aid Kit – paracetemol, plasters, Dioralite / similar
• Towels – incl beach towel if not available at destination
• Condoms / Contraceptives!

General Hold Luggage Checklist
• Portable sewing kit
• Travel alarm – if not available on phone
• Phrase Books & Guide Books & Novels
• Adapter Plugs
• Torch
• Hats – for sun

Male Adult / Teen Checklist for Hold Luggage
• Coat / Rain Mac
• Underwear & Socks
• Swimwear
• Change of trousers / Jeans
• T-Shirts
• Shirts
• Jumper / Sweatshirt
• Trainers / Change of Shoes / Walking Boots
• Flip-Flops / Beach Shoes / Deck Shoes
• If likely require smart / evening attire:
o 1 smart jacket
o Smart Trousers
o Dress / Double-cuff Shirt
o Tie
o Cuff-links
o Smart Shoes

Female Adult / Teen Checklist for Hold Luggage
• Coat / Rain Mac
• Underwear, Socks, Tights, Stockings
• Swimwear – if take a tankini it can double up for a sun-top
• Sarong / Wrap
• Vest Tops
• TShirts / Tops / Blouses
• Cardigans / Wraps
• Trousers / Jeans
• Skirts
• Dresses – sundresses & possibly evening dresses
• Scandals, Flip-flops, Beach Shoes, Evening Shoes
• Walking Shoes / Boots
• Accessories – hand-bags, belts, scarves

Babies / Toddlers Checklist for Hold Luggage
• Vests / Baby-Gro’s
• Sleeping wear
• Nappies & Wipes – enough for a couple of days minimum
• Muslin’s
• Bottles
• Sun-Hat
• Jumpers / Cardigans
• Trousers / Shorts
• Dresses / Sun-dresses
• Bibs
• Waterproof sheet
• Socks / Infant Shoes
• Swimwear / swim nappy
• Baby toiletries – incl baby shampoo & if appropriate tooth brush / paste
• Baby listener & spare batteries
