Dubai Food Festival

This year will see the third Dubai food festival which will runs between Feb 1st and Feb 14th 2009 & (overlapping with the Dubai Shopping Festival that ends on Feb 21st ).

The food festival runs during the following hours:
• Weekdays – 4.00pm to 11.00pm
• Week-ends 12.00pm to 11.00pm

Entrance to the festival is free but there are also many celebrity chef gourmet events / meals that you can pay to attend at discounted show prices.  The festival itself features the following:

• Demonstrations by top chefs – some resident in Dubai but many other fly in from around the world
• Main tent – where local restaurateurs prepare their signature dishes
• Many free tasting opportunities
• Marketplace selling all kinds of olive oils, preserves, exotic spices, luxury chocolates and coffees
• Cooking competitions to ‘have a go’ yourself
• Opportunities to meet cook-cook authors
• Attempts at breaking Guinness World Records
• Consultancy with registered dietitians

The event takes place around the central piazza, Mirdif area of Dubai.

It is not to be confused with the very glitzy ‘Taste of Dubai’ festival that will take place in March.

Dubai will also host a chocolate festival in February – between 4th and 8th February.
